The minority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, polled his followers on X to determine which presidential nominee they prefer.
Cuban released the survey on Friday night, with one candidate winning in a landslide.
“Who’ persona and character would you like to see young children grow up to have?” Cuban wrote in the poll.
The two options were former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
In a resounding victory, Trump received 68.9% of the vote, while Harris ended up with just 31.1%.
As the New York Post reported, multiple political commentators and influencers participated in Cuban’s poll.
Cubans often criticized Trump before; however, he supported Trump’s presidential campaign in 2015.
On Aug. 7, Cuban partook in an interview hosted by entrepreneur and former GOP presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy, where he explained his initial support for Trump.
“In 2015, I was like, ‘He’s great. He’s not a typical Stepford candidate.’ I thought that was a positive,” Cuban said.
“A big part of that is I didn’t think he had a chance,” Cuban added. “I just wanted to kind of screw things up in traditional politics, which I’m not a fan of.”
Cuban, who notably served as a host on the entrepreneurial show “Shark Tank,” even said he considered joining Trump’s ticket in 2016.
During an interview with Business Insider in July 2015, Cuban lauded Trump for saying what was on his mind
“I don’t care what his actual positions are,” the Shark Tank host said in July 2015.
“I don’t care if he says the wrong thing,” he added. “He says what’s on his mind. He gives honest answers rather than prepared answers. This is more important than anything any candidate has done in years.”
Flash-forward to today, Cuban is not as fond of Trump as he used to be.
While President Joe Biden was still the presumptive presidential nominee for the Democratic Party, Cuban indicated that he would go as far as voting for Biden to ensure Trump does not win the presidency again.
“If they were having his last wake, and it was him versus Trump, and he was being given last rites, I would still vote for Joe Biden,” Cuban said during a March interview with Bloomberg.
Since Biden dropped out of the race, Vice President Kamala Harris is now the Democratic presidential nominee.
Cuban has expressed his support for Harris over Trump.
On Aug. 16, Cuban released a series of posts on X, defending Harris’s economic plan.
Cuban referred to Harris as the “pro-business” candidate in the race, citing remarks she made when unveiling her economic agenda.
“Which Pro-Business candidate said this in a Speech this week,” Cuban said on Aug. 16.
He cited Harris’s comments when she said, “I will focus on cutting needless bureaucracy and unnecessary regulatory red tape. Encouraging innovative technologies, while protecting consumers. And creating a stable business environment with consistent and transparent rules of the road. As President, I will bring together labor, small businesses, and major companies, to invest in America. Create good jobs. Achieve broad-based growth. And ensure that America continues to define the world.”
