On Friday evening, Donald Trump bashed former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, both Republicans, after they endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

“Dick Cheney is an irrelevant RINO, along with his daughter, who lost by the largest margin in the History of Congressional Races!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, labeling the pair “Republicans in Name Only.”

“They couldn’t get Scooter Libby, who did so much for them (but was so unfairly treated!), PARDONED. I did it! He’s the King of Endless, Nonsensical Wars, wasting Lives and Trillions of Dollars, just like Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump continued. “I am the Peace President, and only I will stop World War III!”

“What Liz Cheney did with the Unselect Committee of Political Losers is unthinkable. She and her Unselects deleted and destroyed all evidence and information – IT’S GONE. Much of it proved that Nancy Pelosi was responsible for J6 – DIDN’T PROVIDE SECURITY,” Trump added. “Cheney and the others should be prosecuted for what they did, but Comrade Kamala is even worse!”

“In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” Dick Cheney said in a statement earlier on Friday, per NBC News. “He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.”

“As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris,” he added.

“He joins hundreds of Republicans who are backing the Vice President and her patriotic vision of America over former President Trump, because, as Vice President Cheney said, the very future of our republic is at stake in this election,” said Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon in a statement.

Liz Cheney, meanwhile, endorsed Harris on Wednesday during an event at Duke University.

“As a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this,” Cheney said at the event. “Because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris.”

The younger Cheney has been a longtime opponent of former President Trump, labeling Trump as responsible for the Jan 6 Capitol riot, and being one of two Republicans to serve on the Jan. 6 committee.

Liz Cheney would go on after serving on the much-maligned J6 Committee to lose her primary race by over 30 points to current Rep. Harriet Hagerman (R-WY).

“This primary election is over,” Cheney said after her loss, per NBC. “But now the real work begins.”

“We must be very clear-eyed about the threat we face,” she said, vowing to “do whatever it takes to ensure that Donald Trump is never again anywhere near the Oval Office.”
