Democrats are in full-blown panic mode after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed former President Donald Trump in Arizona on Friday.
Kennedy announced his endorsement of the former president during a press conference in the Grand Canyon State, where he announced the suspension of his independent presidential campaign.
In his speech, Kennedy issued a scathing rebuke of the Democratic Party, saying it is the party of censorship, Big Tech, Big Pharma and more.
Kennedy, who initially launched his campaign as a Democrat in April 2023, revealed why he departed the party of his uncle — former President John F. Kennedy — and his father, Robert F. Kennedy.
“I left the party to run as an independent,” Kennedy said. “The mainstream of American politics and journalism derided my decision.”
Kennedy then accused the Democratic National Committee (DNC) of creating a “sham” primary process in favor of President Joe Biden, while hiding his obvious cognitive decline.
“And, most sadly — at all, for me, for the Democratic Party — in the name of saving Democracy, the Democratic Party set itself to dismantling it, lacking confidence in its candidate, that its candidate could win in a fair election at the voting booth,” Kennedy said, shortly before throwing his support behind Trump.
Kennedy said that Trump’s position on the Russia-Ukraine war “alone would justify my support.”
Following his speech, Kennedy appeared as a “special guest” at Trump’s packed rally in Glendale, Arizona, where he was met by raucous applause from the crowd at Desert Diamond Arena.
Upon introducing Kennedy on stage, Trump revealed that if elected president, he would establish a presidential commission on assassination attempts, specifically focusing on the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963.
The former president said he would create this panel as a “tribute” to Kennedy.
Trump also vowed to create a “panel of top experts working with Bobby to investigate what is causing the decades-long increase in chronic health problems and childhood diseases, including autoimmune disorders, autism, obesity, infertility, and many more.”
“Don’t you want to know that the food you’re feeding them is not filled with chemicals that are going to give them cancer and chronic disease? And don’t you want a president that’s gonna make America healthy again?” Kennedy asked the crowd at Trump’s rally.
Following his announcement, members of Kennedy’s family denounced the former independent presidential candidate, calling his endorsement of Trump “a betrayal.”
“We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future, a future defined by individual freedom, economic promise and national pride,” a statement by the Kennedy family read. “We believe in Harris and Walz. Our brother Bobby’s decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear. It is a sad ending to a sad story.”
Former President Barack Obama’s longtime adviser, David Axelrod, also condemned is “political hero” for endorsing Trump.
“Robert F. Kennedy was my political hero,” Axelrod said. “He battled fiercely & eloquently against poverty, injustice and for economic fairness. Sadly RFK Jr, who made a rambling exit from the race today, proves that sometimes an apple DOES fall from the tree…in this case, down a hill and over a cliff.”
Kennedy’s endorsement could very well hand the 2024 election to Trump. The former independent presidential candidate had 5-6% support in several battleground states, which could boost Trump ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris in November.
